Code Music
I tempered around with my Wordpress installation while I was waiting for DVW to compile (a full rebuild for all targets takes a considerably long time even on my dual core). I threw out Sidebar Modules (SBM) which is neither maintained any longer nor compatible with widgets and reactivated Wordpress Widgets instead. This was a bit tricky because the Glued Ideas Subtle theme isn’t really Widgets ready, but with a little help from my friend Google I managed to get it running. This and this blog entry were helpful in particular, thank you guys.
Another cool feature I added is “Code Music”. Basically, it’s a modified version of the Bookmarks Display Widget (available right here) which shows one or more link categories from my blogroll using a configurable CSS list class. Those of you who read the DVW development diary may know that I gave some music recommendations there every now and then. Now, I’ve found a nice way to allow you to actually listen to the music I like: I’m linking to the corresponding deezer.com tracks. So now turn your eyes to the right sidebar and try out my recommendations. I will fill this up over time and only the recent five entries are displayed, so make sure you check back often.
And, yes, I prefer to listen to electronic music while coding. Bear with me.
